Pachinko revolves around a 4-generation Korean family during the Japanese colonial occupation during World War II. The main character Sunja and her family have overcome many difficulties in life according to the fluctuations of the times with many losses. A love affair with a wealthy married businessman changes her life completely, sending her into exile in Japan, being despised, discriminated against, and struggling to survive.
The film is produced in three languages: Korean, Japanese and English. Season 1 of Pachinko is directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon – two famous names of the American independent film industry. Season 1 with a total of 8 episodes, the first 3 episodes will be released on March 25.
