Recently, Joy News 24 opened a poll for 200 people in the entertainment industry, including the vote “5 Worst K-Dramas In 2021”.
Accordingly these votes have not been cast by viewer ratings, but rather, take into account a variety of factors such as acting, cinematography, plot and writing, and more.
Out of the 70 K-Dramas launched in 2021 as of the end of October and here are the results:
1. Joseon Exorcist
“Joseon Exorcist” is a movie that was canceled midway due to a series of criticisms, the most severe being the distortion of history. With 75 votes/200, it was awarded the title of Worst K-Drama of 2021.

After only 10 episodes of airing, the drama was banned from broadcasting due to a wave of criticism from fans, especially the movie was said to have used products from China, causing public outrage.
2. The Penthouse: War In Life

This could be a surprise for fans. The Penthouse Receiving 43 out of 200 votes, it’s the 2nd worst K-Drama of 2021, according to insiders.
Although the film has received high ratings in part 1 and part 2, this still cannot satisfy industry insiders when it is said to have boring content.
3. Lost

The film received 17 out of 200 votes, it ranked 3rd as the worst K-Drama of 2021.
Starring Jeon Do Yeon as Bujung, a 40-year-old ghost writer, she feels as though she’s done nothing in her life. She meets Kangjae played by Ryu Jun Yeol, a 27-year-old who is facing the end of his youth and his fear of becoming nothing.
The film has been criticized for its overall melancholy emotion and tight ending that makes viewers feel as if they are watching a movie with nothing progressing. However, as actor Ryu Jun Yeol concludes, such a drama must last for a while, for viewers to continue to grow.
4. Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)

The series received 10 out of 200 votes, making it the 4th worst K-Drama. This is a surprise given that its second season has skyrocketed to final ratings, reaching a nationwide rating of 16.582%. , becoming the 8th highest-rated K-Drama drama on Korean cable television.
5. “Sisyphus: The Myth” and “Young Lady and Gentleman” Tie
We have two dramas of very different genres that rank 5th in worst K-Drama.
Each Drama received 7 out of 200 votes. Sisyphus: The Myth, tells the story of a genius engineer, Taesul, played by Cho Seung Woo, who tries to find out the truth behind his brother’s death. A mysterious time-travelling woman, Seohae, played by Park Shin Hye, helps him save the world. The plot’s complexity, loopholes and writing drew criticism in Korea as many felt that the content became loose in later episodes.

On the other hand, Young Lady and Gentleman has a real failure both in terms of Rating and content when it has extremely low ratings and the lead actor Ji Hyun Woo is also criticized for bad acting.
