The list of Korean couples revealed by Dispatch, including breakups and being happy.

For more than a decade, the Korean news site Dispatch has created a tradition of revealing a new Kbiz idol couple on New Year’s Day. Apart from January 1 each year, Dispatch also regularly reveals other famous couples every time they find evidence of dating.
Now it’s 2021, it’s time to look back at Dispatch couples from 2008 to the present.

1. 2008

Hyun Young and Kim Jong Min made history as Dispatch’s first New Year’s Day couple. However, they quickly broke up in 2009.
2. 2009
Ivy and Kim Tae Sung
After 3 years of being together, the two broke up in 2012.
3. 2010:
Yoo Hae Jin and Kim Hye Soo
Yoo Hae Jin and Kim Hye Soo were Dispatch’s first New Year’s Day couple in 2010. Unfortunately, their romance was short-lived. Yoo Hae Jin and Kim Hye Soo broke up one year later, in 2011.

Shin Se-Kyung and JongHyun

October 27, 2010 Shin Se-Kyung and JongHyun admitted to dating after Dispatch released evidence, but the two quickly broke up on June 21, 2011.
Currently, Shin Se-Kyung is still single.
On December 18, 2017 JongHyun suddenly passed away.

4. 2011
No New Year’s couples were revealed by Dispatch in 2011 and 2012.
However, many other couples were revealed.
Lee Na Young and Daniel Henney

The couple broke up shortly thereafter, Daniel Henney is now 42 years old and not married.

Goo Hara (KARA) – Yong Junhyung (Beast / Highlight)

Goo Hara (KARA) – Yong Junhyung (Beast / Highlight). They broke up in 2013. Then, Hara had some other love affairs and died in 2019.

Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young

Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young admitted to dating. However, only after 6 months of publicly dating, Lee Min Ho – Park Min Young decided to break up. Later, Park Min Young got rumors about Park Seo Joon, but both denied it.

5. 2012

This is a year of Dispatch’s hiatus when they cannot reveal any couples.

6. 2013

Rain and Kim Tae Hee

No New Year’s couples were revealed by Dispatch in 2011 and 2012, but the tradition continued in 2013 with Rain and Kim Tae Hee. Seven years have passed, but this couple (now married) is still going strong!

Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee.

Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee have been dating for a while then they broke up.
After breaking up, Jo In Sung focused on his acting career. Meanwhile, Kim Min Hee is dating old director Hong Sang Soo.

Won Bin and Lee Na Young

Won Bin and Lee Na Young got married in 2015. At the end of the year, the couple welcomed their first son. Currently, they are still strong and able to build a happy family.

7. 2014

Yoona (Girls’ Generation) and Lee Seung Gi

One of the most beloved idol couples of all time was revealed on January 1, 2014. For years, Lee Seung Gi told the whole world that Yoona was his ideal type. Fans were thrilled when this dream couple became reality and enjoyed the romance while it lasted. The couple parted ways in July 2015.

Kim Yuna and Kim Won Jung.

Ice skater Kim Yuna and hockey player Kim Won Jung admit to dating. However, they decided to break up after 8 months publicly dating.

Baekhyun (EXO) and Taeyeon (SNSD)

Baekhyun (EXO) and Taeyeon (SNSD) have been dating for a year. By September 2015, Baekhyun (EXO) – Taeyeon (SNSD) decided to break up.

Choiza and Sulli

Choiza and Sulli has been dating for almost 4 years and broke up in March 2017. Sulli committed suicide in 2019.

Sooyoung (SNSD) and Jung Kyung Ho

After nearly 7 years of love each other, Sooyoung (SNSD) and Jung Kyung Ho still love each other firmly.

 

8. 2015

Lee Jung Jae and Im Sae Ryung

Dispatch revealed the relationship between actor Lee Jung Jae and the daughter of Daesang Group’s president, Im Sae Ryung, on January 1, 2015.

Lee Min Ho and Suzy

Lee Min Ho and Suzy admitted to dating and after 2 years at the end of 2017, Lee Min Ho and Suzy broke up. Later, Suzy dated Lee Dong Wook but quickly broke up.

Yuri (SNSD) and Oh Seung Hwan

After 6 months of being revealed to have a love relationship, Yuri (SNSD) – baseball player Oh Seung Hwan broke up.

Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye

Although Dispatch had evidence, Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye’s side denied it.

Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah

Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah keep a good dating relationship up to now.

IU and Chang Kiha

IU and singer-songwriter Chang Kiha broke up shortly after.

9. 2016

Junsu (JYJ) and Hani (EXID)

Junsu and Hani for relationship was announced on January 1, 2016. The couple split in September, due to their busy schedules.

ZICO and Seolhyun (AOA)

After 6 months of admitting to dating, ZICO and Seolhyun (AOA) broke up.

Taeyang (Big Bang) and Min Hyo Rin.

Taeyang (Big Bang) and Actress Min Hyo Rin admitted dating right after being released by Dispatch, the two are now married.

10. 2017

In 2017, Dispatch did not reveal a New Year’s couple. Instead, a political scandal involving Choi Soon Sil and former president Park Geun Hye was revealed by Dispatch on January 1. However, many famous couples were revealed this year

Lee Joon Gi and Jeon Hye Bin

Lee Joon Gi and Jeon Hye Bin broke up after more than a year of love. By 2019, Jeon Hye Bin has publicly married her boyfriend outside the entertainment industry.

Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Sung Kyung

After 8 months of admitting to dating, Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Sung Kyung decided to break up.

Son Yeon Jae and Choi Jong Hoon

Son Yeon Jae (aerobics athlete) and Choi Jong Hoon (FT.Island) dated for 2 months, then broke up.

Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo

Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo quickly decided to get married in 2017. After 2 years of marriage, the couple shocked the people with the divorce announcement.

UEE (After School) and Kang Nam

Less than a month after being released by Dispatch, UEE (After School) – Kang Nam broke up. In 2019, Kang Nam married speed skater Lee Sang Hwa.

Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri (Girl’s Day)

After nearly 5 years of dating, Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri (Girl’s Day) still maintain a love relationship.

11. 2018

G-Dragon (BIGBANG) and Lee Joo Yeon (former After School member)
In 2018, Dispatch announced this celebrity couple, citing evidence that G-Dragon and Lee Joo Yeon (Jooyeon) had spent three days on Jeju Island together.

A month later, however, former BIGBANG member Seungri stated that none of the members, aside from Taeyang, were currently dating. Both G-Dragon’s agency and Joo Yeon’s agency denied Dispatch’s report.

Lee Joon (MBLAQ) and Jung So Min

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and Jung So Min have been dating for 2 years and broke up in June 2020.

Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon

After nearly 3 years of dating, Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon are still happy in their relationship.

12. 2019

Jennie (BLACKPINK) and Kai (EXO)
Dispatch broke the internet when they announced this power couple! Unfortunately for shippers, this couple’s relationship ended before January did.

So Ji Sub and Jo Eun Jung.

So Ji Sub publicly dated Jo Eun Jung for a year. In April 2020, So Ji Sub announced he was married to Jo Eun Jung.

Kang Daniel and Jihyo (TWICE)

Kang Daniel and Jihyo (TWICE) admitted dating but in November 2020, Kang Daniel – Jihyo (TWICE) announced their breakup.

13. 2020

Super Junior‘s Heechul and TWICE‘s Momo are the New Year’s Day couple of 2020, but Dispatch isn’t the outlet that reported the relationship. Instead, Market News broke the news!

Momo and Heechul are officially the new Kpop couple of 2020, as reported by Market News. If I had to guess, this was the major new couple that Dispatch wanted to reveal, but it leaked to the other source before they could release it. Instead of publishing something we already knew, they decided not to release anything.

14. 2021

Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin

Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin became the Dispatch couple on January 1 this year. They quickly admitted to this dating relationship. Currently the two are happy in their relationship.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie and G-Dragon

On February 24th, media outlet Dispatch reported Jennie (24) and G-Dragon (32) have been in a relationship for a year. G-Dragon’s luxury apartment in Hannam was a perfect dating spot for the couple.

Seo Ji Hye and  Kim Jung Hyun

On the morning of April 8, Dispatch has releases exclusive photos of actress Seo Ji Hye (37) and actor Kim Jung Hyun (31) are dating, however both quickly deny it.
