Director Kim Ki Duk died at the age of 59 due to Covid-19 in Latvia.
According to Russian media Latvian, director Kim Ki Duk passed away at the hospital at 1:20 a.m. on Friday, December 11 due to complications during the treatment of the Corona virus. Before that, Kim Ki Duk came to Latvia on November 20 to buy a house in Jurmala, the country’s coastal resort near Riga.
Previously the president of the jury of the Moscow International Film Festival in 2019, Kim Ki Duk is the only Korean director to receive all the major awards at the world’s three major film festivals in Cannes, Venice and Berlin.
