Shocked: Goo Hye Sun revealed that she broke up with her boyfriend because of “Boys Over Flowers”
Goo Hye Sun recently surprised the audience when sharing her memories of filming the movie “Boys Over Flowers”.
In her first talk show appearance since her divorce, Goo Hye Sun appeared as a guest on an MBC reality show. She also introduces viewers to the head of her new agency, Kim Sung Hoon, who previously worked with Goo Hye Sun for many years in the early days of her career.
In an interview, Kim Sung Hoon recalled the tiring process of receiving Goo Hye Sun’s legendary role in “Boys Over Flowers”.
“The competition for a role in a drama is fierce,” he said. “Every agency that has any actresses of that age begs to hire their actresses. I also spent a lot of time waiting at the production company, going back and forth and meeting the director many times until Goo Hye Sun was finally cast in that role. ”
Goo Hye Sun laughed and complained, “What I find the most unfair [about ‘Boys Over Flowers’] is that the boys will come to the end of a scene dressed in nice clothes, and then they will steal the show. . But in the first place, I’ll be beaten with eggs and dough until they come out, and then the scene will end. In the end it is still the male lead who benefits ”.
Kim Sung Hoon replied, “But that’s why people prefer Geum Jan Di’s character, because she has to endure. It’s a real Cinderella story ”. Watching a video of their conversation from the set, host Jun Hyun Moo agreed, “Everyone supported her.”
In particular, Goo Hye Sun went on to share that she finally broke up with her then-boyfriend due to the result of the drama overseas.
Explaining that she didn’t have cell phone reception in New Caledonia, where the movie’s stunning island scenes were filmed, Goo Hye Sun said: “I had a boyfriend back then and he couldn’t get in touch with me. . But he didn’t believe me when I said I didn’t have a receptionist there. He thinks that is an excuse. So we broke up ”.
